algae frozen food

I feed my tank rods food and the fish go crazy over it but I would also like to feed it an algae only food. I went to a LFS just to pick something up and all I seen was formula 2. I've heard good things about it but as I was getting ready to pay I noticed it read that it contained gel binder. I've had problems with my fish eating food that contains gel binder. They won't even chew it. Is there anything out there that you guys recommend? If so what and where can I purchase it?

I've also tried the seaweed select and have had no luck not even my mex turbo snails will touch it.

Flake is an option but which is best?

I use the formula 2, the gel is kinda a pain.

You just need to thaw it out and then smash it up really well with a fork while soaking it in tank water.

As for seaweed select go to a Japanese market and buy nori, it's a lot cheaper....

Good luck, hope that helps!

I've smashed up that gel binder stuff also and no luck. Just goes to the bottom and the clean up crew takes care of it.

Try Nori or Julian Sprung's Sea Veggies if you can't find Nori.

Sometimes I put it on a lettuce clip and sometimes I soak it in tank water with Selcon and then break it up and feed it like flake.

My tang and and Scribbled Foxface go nuts for it. Then again they go nuts for Rod's food too.
