I am new to the hobby, and this is my first nano reef tank. Early on I noticed what I believe to be a small algae finger growing on my live rock. It has since grown to be about 3 times as large and spread to become a small cluster. I have looked around and not seen any photos that look like what I have. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what this is and if it is ok for my tank.
Sorry about the photo quality, it was taken with my phone. The algae in question are the finger like protrusions from the side of the live rock. They seem to be hairy and the bases (where they attach) seem to be calcified to some degree.
Another angle:
Thank you
