Looks like you have some bubble algae growing in the first pic as well.

Was the rock dry or live? Usually cyano comes from not enough in an area. I would probably some more flow and start running some GFO.

Cyano is perfectly normal towards the end of a cycle, it will bloom and then burn itself out as the nutrients in the water are used up.

The rock was all live. Had some die off.

Welcome to the ugly stages..
you certainly have cyano (its a bacteria not an algae BTW) and some hair/bubble algae there..
Don't overreact yet.. Give it time.. Siphon the cyano out with water changes and see how it goes..
Keep those nitrates/phosphates low and the algae should go away..

yes it can be for sure..
I find though that many types of snails,etc.. don't really go after hair algae when it gets longer than 1/4-1/2" or so.. mexican turbos are my go to snails for doing "work" on algae..

Not a bad price but a little expensive.. but it is what it is.... I usually pay $2.99/ea at the local store.. a little smaller than a golf ball size..
1 or 2 is PLENTY for your tank..
I run 2 in my 40b and they do great work..

Anywhere that uses pounds for currency is probably a little further from Mexico, so probably a reasonable price.

Where abouts are you in the UK? I'm also in the UK and I think my turbos were also £10-£12.
