algae losing chlorophyl

About two weeks ago 1/2 the algae (caulerpa) lost its chlorophyl. It just exited the plant like steam out of a kettle, but a lot slower. Turned the whole tank green. Happened yesterday again. Once the chlorophyl leaves, the plant is white. It's really weird. Do I need to worry about this? I removed most of the whitetend plant to avoid decomposition.

FYI, the plant is #3 in your critter list. (tried to link the picture but I couldn't figure out part of the URL ...id_images/algae_caulerpa-dsp.jpg)

Your plant is happy, because

It has gone sexual....part of the cycle of this algae. Some usually survives, and the green tint is usually not an issue. How does it look today?

The plant has died back, but parts of it are still green. The parts that are no longer are green have died back and the Hermits appear to be feasting on it.
