algae problem??

Anyone know anything about red algae. This stuff is all over in my fuge but not in the main tank. When I peel it off, it comes off like a cotton ball. I can pull it all off and in a couple weeks it will be back. I have already scraped one fuge, thinking that I will start over and be done with it but it came back. It grows on the glass the sand anything. I have not found anything that works, hoping that someone here can help.

It is Asparagopsis Taxiformis (sp?). I had a mojor outbreak of it in my 180, and mexican turbo snails got rid of it in no time. Don't put too many in at once. When they eat all the algae, they will starve. They are very aggressive feeders. I dont think you will find anything else that will eat it.

Post a picture, it could be cyano or dino's also.

I have that red fuzzy stuff growing also..
But my hair algae covered it up - no worries now.

Yeah that is the stuff. I will throw a couple turbos in the fuge and see what happens.

ppl will tell u this and tell u that. but if u want it gone, mex turbos (fluctuosa) r what works.
