algae scrapers

Been looking 3 yrs now for an algae scraper with a 24 inch are longer handle. kent sells one but the handle is weak. Cant believe as many large aquariums there are someone is making them. If you know of one please let me know.

I use a 36" kent on my 24" deep tank and it works just fine, I can scrape coraline algae all the way down to the bottom of the tank. when you say weak, do you mean you break the handle while scraping?

do you mean no matter how hard you press down, the coraline won't scrape off? or do you mean when you press hard, the handle breaks?

no matter what brand, its just a blade and a handle, so you can apply some physics to take advantage of the tool. you can either increase the angle of scraping, or use a longer handle. any plastic handle will probably bend a little. I used to have a scraper with a wood handle, and the handle for that broke, but not with plastic handles.

I made my own, It is simply a paint scraper, so I can change out the razor blade when it gets rusty/dull, and I added a piece of 3/4" pvc pipe to it, cut to length and your set.I also used a stainless steel screw to attach the 2 together, altough not pictured, I actually have 3 different length pieces of pvc I use depending on how I plan to clean my tank. Here are two pictures for your viewing pleasure.
