Algae scrubber CW-200

I just got the Clear Water CW-200 algae scrubber..... it's ridiculously loud.... from very loud cascading water to gurgling from the drain..... I feel like there's gotta be something wrong, no way this thing is supposed to be that loud.... or is it? If so it's gotta go back to the store, no way I can keep running this thing that loud.... what am I missing???
