i use berlin filtration on my 180 reef tank with lps and sps and soft, is it safe to also use ATS filtration?

I am not sure about turf algae (due to lack of knowledge on the subject), but many (and I too) grow and harvest macro algae in fuge to combat nitrates and phosphates.
Chaetomorpha seems the most popular macro algae because it is easy to handle and does not go sexual. Caulerpa(sp) is also a good macro, but there is a risk of going sexual and potentually can crash tank.
