All-in-one Nano Tanks (aquapod, etc)

Whats up everyone,
I am curious as to people's experience with all-in-one inclusive nano tanks (i.e. aquapod, JBJ, etc). What tank seems to be the best built, and the best value?

Any opinions or experience very welcome

Thanks!

I have a 24 gallon Nano Cube, and while I like it I can't help but look at the 29 gallon biocube in envy :)
Also the Finnex M tanks are nice as well.
I'd rank them:
M-Tank
BioCube
Nano/Aquapod

i 2nd the nano dx ive had mine for 3 years since the 1st onee came out its the throwback baby lol . no but seriously its awesome just change the powerhead in the back to a rio for more flow. my g/f has the biocube its w/e the finnex looks nice though i havent seen one in person

12 gal nano vs 24 gal nano have different wats per gal ratio. 12 gal is 4:1, and the 24 is about 2.5:1. If you compare them side by side, maybe in a local fish store, you can see the distinct difference.

I had a JBJ once; 24gal...
The front glass broke on the left corner, ran the height of the tank. 24g of saltwater on hardwoodfloors....nasty to say the least. JBJ told me I was out of warranty to replace the tank. No compensation whatsoever for a manufacturing defect. Appearantly they made a defective batch between a certain time period, I just happen to get one with no knowledge of it.
Lost a tank.
Lost a pair of clowns.
Lost many corals.
Lost a customer.

imo the aquapod is constructed better,BUT their lighting is underpowered compared to the JBJ.

On marinedepot it says that the aquapod has "2x27w Dual Sunpaqs w/lunar lights"

and the JBJ has "(2) 24 Watt 50/50 CF Lamp"

According to this, the aquapod has 6 more wats of PC... or am i missing somthing?

When you say Nano DX, you mean the JBJ Nano Cube?

The m-tanks are sweet... but pretty much too expensive. Besides I like the hood limiting evaporation... but the M-Tanks are the only one with protein skimmers? Is this a problem??

TIA

i stand corrected. :D

I think they are a cheaper investment if youre looking to buy everything at once.. I didnt have anough cash (pooor poor poor) and scavenged a 10g from a friend, bought a filter for 12$, made an overflow, a closed loop system, bought some sand and lr and lights and it came out to be about $40 LOL

there should be some pictures of my tnak in that thread

but yeah, go with an all in one, preferably the jbj, ive seen them are they are crazy for the price..

you think the jbj is better than the aquapod? (the frameless mtank looks amazing... but its pretty expensive (200$)

my beef with the m-tank is its kinda loud with that wet dry in the back. also the skimmer is loud and kinda cheap imo its only maybe worth like $40. since your dealing with nanos theres no need to have a skimmer just run some carbon and weekly water changes. i am going to go with the aquapod.

With a Nano you don't need a skimmer. Just have plenty of live rock, do weekly waterchanges, don't have a ton of big dirty fish and don't overfeed. if you keep all this in check your o.k. w/o a skimmer.
