allardi and clarkii?

can you pair a big allardi with a small clarkii? considering they look SORT OF similar.

this guy has 4 medium allardi, but they are all medium size. So I might buy one allardi (which are hard to come by in San Diego), and then a clarkii to pair it up (since they are easy to come by)
