It does look like a bit too much flow. I have mine a bit higher in the tank, light wise and with a lot less flow than that. Mine gets intermittent medium flow. The polyps don't move that much.
I still vote for switching with the Frogspawn. However, the frogspawn doesn't normally like the sand bed. It needs a bit more light than that. Either way, good luck with this Alveopora. They are very cool, but very sensitive corals too.

Seems the blue rings are there when it's not fully extended, like it folds up the extra... By full light it's all out and happy. I may still switch though to see if the frogspawn responds to more flow.
I have never had much luck with euphyllia in high flow...though some people so seem to pull it off!
Agreed, the rings appear because it is closing...bunches of tissue as it retracts. Could be that too much flow making it retract, though...it does appear to be happening on the side the flow is coming from? But if it opens fully mid day, don't think I would worry.
