If you are wavering about whether this rock is (a) as good as they say or (b) a good value, stop wavering and order.
We got our first shipment of the package 8 days ago. We followed directions and there was never any appreciable ammonia. The rock was pretty clean. (In fact, I thought it was a little more sterile than I expected.)
BUT THEN. . . part two.
This rock is more beautiful than I ever could have imagined. As people keep saying, it's teeming with life - macroalgae, sponges, jewelboxes, tunicates, featherdusters, a tiny purple gorgonian, and even stony corals!! We thought these last were just pretty rock with dead corals, but they are alive.
And the extras!!! We got sponges, and scallops, and a decorator crab, and an umbrella mushroom, and a frilly decorator crab, and the list goes on. . . .I was overwhelmed by it all.
In a little less than a week, we had a perfect tank, and it looks even more beautiful because it is authentic, not a mishmash of stuff from all over the world.
It's been 8 days now. Everything looks wonderful. There's been very little die off, and still no appreciable ammonia.
As for bad hitchhikers, the good ones so far have outweighed the bad, with only one mantis and one bad crab. I'm sure there are probably some other small ones, but that's no big deal.
I can't stop staring at the tank, and neither can anyone else who sees it.
P.S. I know it's still early, but all indications are incredible so far.
