Ammonia spike - Prime?

4 tangs acting "lethargic" and barely eating in my QT tank (I suspect it's ammonia from over feeding trying to get another fish to eat - that was removed to another tank)

Does Prime really "remove" Ammonia or just make it non-toxic to the fish?

30% every 3 days.

I religiously change 30-40% in all my tanks every week with natural sea water and I don' measure anything.
