Ammonia Test Help

Hi all,

I have read all of your threads and I see that you post very specific ammonia test numbers. My test is color coded to very non-specific numbers. Is there a test out there that will give you a consistent and accurate number?

Thanks,

Kyle

I am using both SeaChem and Nutrafin. The Nutrafin test seems very repeatable but does not go between 0 and .1 which means it is not much good after cycling. The seachem test has 10 gradations between 0 and .01 and another 10 between .01 and .05 and another 10 between .05 and .1. However it is impossible to read because the test circles have colors in them all over the map. Right now I am using up the Seachem to backup my Nutrafin tests about every 3rd day. Once they are gone I am going to try to find the salifert tests but everyone seems to be out of them.

im using fasttest it is made by instant ocean, it goes from 0.0-0.8 which is really all i am concerned with because i dont want it hitting 1.0, i also have a nother one that goes up to 5.0 but its impossible to read.
