anchoring little bubble tip anemone

I recently purchased a small white bubble tip anemone and am having trouble getting it to anchor in my tank. I turned off the powerheads (the flow is pretty good in my 70G) and waited until i thought he was happy, but he ended up walking off the rock or getting moved off by the current.

How long should I leave the p/h off to ensure he finds a good spot? He's small enough that if he gets in the current he'll be blown around.

Any suggestions would be helpful, as I'm not sure how long it's safe to even leave the p/h off.

Thanks!

With the power head on or off it will continue to move until he finds a spot that he likes (light & flow).

Keep in mind that they'll look for the amount of light & flow that they prefer, so if you're turning off the power-head & he attaches somewhere, when you turn on the pump.....he might not like the flow & start to move again.

Leave it on & let nature take it's course.;)

Although I've heard alot of horror stories of anenomes & power-heads.:(

That's what I'm worried about; if i leave the powerheads on and go to bed, will I wake up in the morning and find the little guy sucked into the p/h or some very well-fed fire shrimp...The flow in my tank is too high for him, he'll definitely be blown around...

I'm sure he is very beautiful.

It is my understanding that white anemones are not healthy. If I am correct it means they have expelled their zoothanthellae, Which I is an algae they have in their tissues. I am no expert, and could be wrong. Hopefully someone else with more experience will comment soon.

I didn't not mean to sound like your anemone wasn't nice looking, just had some concern with it being white. I should have explained myself better.

Here is a picture of my Pink Tip anemone...

It is my understanding that the white ones are bleached. When I say white, I'm not talking an off white. Maybe we should start a new thread with a different subject line to get some more opinions. Maybe someone with more experience could help us out.

I think there is some confusion with this thread as to what type of anemone we are talking about. If it is bleached, maybe others can offer some suggestions on what to do to help it.

True. This is going off topic, but mis-information might be given to the poster, saying that his anenome is not healthy, without seeing a pic of his or even an ID.
He's just trying to get information on getting his anenome to stand still.:)

I am not trying to give wrong information. I am concerned about the anemones health. The original post said it was a BTA. I have never heard of a white BTA, but I could be wrong. I feel it is definately worth looking into. If it is bleached, maybe it can be helped.

I did state that I would like to see a pic.

an anemone wont be blown around unless it wants to be, they are very sticky and can latch on to anything.. when they want to

Wow, thanks for all the input. I've been assured by my "trusted" LFS that it's indeed a bubble tip, and is not bleached. He's quite a bright white colour, with a dot of purple on each tentacle tip; he certainly doesn't LOOK bleached. I've got a huge purple/blue sebae as well that's been growing like a weed over the past six months. Sorry no pics, but i haven't figured out how to take good ones and have no idea yet how ot post them.

Since my last post he's found a spot to hang out, although he seems somewhat lethargic. I'm going to hope this is due to the recent transfer, but will keeping an eye on the little guy. He's walked himself into a somwehat reclusive positioin in a nook at the moment, and his tentacles are quite still, very little movement. Will try feeding him once he looks a little more active.
