Anemone Majano?

Is this the dreaded Majano? I got it from a fresh shipment of LR. The more mature specimen appears to be clear for the most part with white ball tips. Also, they appear to have mouths like discosoma or mushies in general. The pics don't show that and the mouths are the same color as the tips.

Looks more like corynactis or pseudocorynactis(both good). Definately not a mojano or aiptasia.

Looks more like Pseudocorynactis and it's 50/50. Some people experience "wonderful" growth rates and consider them pests. While others willingly buy them and enjoy their unique look and colors.

Mine only come out at night. They do not appear to bother anything in my tank. I do agree that they look more like pseudocorynactis. They are in the corallmorphia family just like discosoma and shrooms.

LOL, three and a half years that rock was in my tank and I never once noticed those guys...

I was searching for pods when I noticed the pair. Seems my pods have retreated to the back chambers of the tank... May need to reconfigure the tank for a refuge... what a pain...

It looks more like the corynactis (thanks E. Borneman for your coral book), yet without the stalk. The pics of the pseudo have much more color than mine.

They have also been called mushroom anemones. I've got some huge ones in my percula tank.

Mine are miniscule.. one is less than 1/4 inch. The other was nearly an inch, but hes shrank a little bit after getting my Mg up.. probably unrelated though...

it is very constructive comment if they have a similar aspects of majano...IMO if anything reproduces at a fast rate, I would kill them as a means of keeping their population down. so yes, in my 2 cents, it was a constructive comment.

Now that was constructive.... : P They are growing no faster, if not less as fast, as my discosoma and mushie.. I was just checking that they weren't majano, which I would banish immediately...

Something unexpected and rare, not that's the sort of thing I want in my tank...

For now, it's two discrete organisms and the aren't within 4" of anything else (newer startup) so I'm not worried...

I have no hold backs on killing anemone or strange things that pop up in reef tanks. I dont take the risk.

I have right now, a tulip anemone infestation (you might see them on eBay) and I am really [profanity] off at any small anemone in my tank.

I do not hesistate to kill them. I just think of it as adding a little calcium to the tank when I kalkwasser them.

Well, right now there are only two and they are in benign locations. I'll keep a close watch on them for trouble. I have a nano, so nothing really gets by me.
