anemone moves during water change??

Mine don't budge. But its possible they can move if they are annoyed by the new water.

Do you have a sump? Are you removing and adding the water to the display tank?

If you have a sump slowly drain the water from the display and don't let air hit the anemone. Then add saltwater to the sump that's been mixed, sat for a few hours to 24 hours, temperature and salinity matched. If you are adding colder water it could move due to that. Or if you are adding water in real fast and causing turbulence that annoys it.

If you don't have a sump do the same but slowly, very slowly add it back into the display tank. Be sure the temp and salinity match and that it wasn't just freshly mixed.

I think maybe most of it was cause I turned off the powerheads to do the water change and once I saw it start to move I turned them back off but by then was to late...my first anemone though so made a mistake. ..yes I have a sump

What species anemone? Is he fairly new? New ones are more picky when it comes to their spot in the tank. Once established some don't move for anything.

Rose bubble tip...got him friday...he had settle in the perfect spot for display then moved once I did water change now he moved behind the rock out of display view:rolleye1::sad2:

Long as he's getting light I wouldn't worry about it. Yeah its highly annoying you can't see him but its better to not stress him out moving him.
