Anemone relocating on top of corals, what to do?

I just got a BTA yesterday and placed it in a small kind of hole I made with rocks. The foot took hold and it seemed cozy.

But when I woke up this morning, it had moved right on top of my zoanthid rock. The zoa's polyps are of course retracted, but the BTA's foot covers most of them.

Any advice?

BTA's will move when and where they want. You could try pointing more flow towards it to get it to move off of your zoos.

For the most part, mine usually stay in the same spot. Since you just got him, he may still be looking for his perfect spot.

thats the problem when you try to leep corals and anemones in same tank.i had one that only liked to move when i was not home for several days.after two years i traded him.he got in the overflow right before a vacation and i decided to not take the chance anymore,my perculas now hang out in xenia.alot safer.

Yea I'm all about lowest possible maintenance - maybe will have to trade him in.

What kind of danger are my corals in? This zoa rock was pretty expensive.

My nems move when they arent getting enough flow. If it moved to a great flow spot. take that flow away, or move it and it should move too. if it doesent budge, try to point a powerhead directly at the foot.

Dont direct the power head directly at its foot, you could possibly do some damage to it. What you need to do is just wait it out and see what happens, since you just got it it is still trying to find his location. Turn off the lights and he should then begin to move again until he finds a spot to rest. And when he does its not a definate whether he is going to stay at that spot. So good luck.

Oh and also bta's normally like to have their foot hidden within a crevice so it is not exposed, so it is almost a definate that he will move from that rock of zoo's.
