Anemones and Ich

Will Ich parasites hitch a ride on an anemone when being transfered to another tank or do they just get transfered by attaching to fish and rock??

Thats what I was assuming but I just wanted to be sure. A friend of mine( one of the dumb ones) has a GBTA that is too big for his small nano tank(I told him not to get it in the first place). He asked me if I wanted it but he doesn't quarantine and I have a fish in my quarantine right now. I don't think its worth the chance een though his nem is gorgeous.

I've been told that for corals/inverts, 3 days in a QT and you should be good to go. Or you could "wash" him repeatedly with some of your own tank water before putting him in. The theory is to wash any of his old tank water (and Ich) off of him. Either way, it's still a small risk.

Yes, a big yes anemones can carry along icy. It happened to me. I had just finishing cooking my rock for 3 months, fish where in qt and had been medicated for that time. I decided to buy an bubble tip anemone for my clowns the day I was transferring the fish back into to the display. Well I got hit with an ich outbreak and the only new thing was the btw. Since then I qt everything that is wet.

Tomites can transfer with water but they "expire" as mentioned above. Needs to be isolated for 3 days but avoid water transfer if at all possible.
