Anenome poop

Yeah, not a very tasty title, but, this was too cool. Tanis had said that the anenome had eaten a snail. I think it got a crab instead. It hacked up this chunk and the cool part was that my starfish, that I NEVER see, grabbed it.

Not only that, but the polyps were trying to get it as was the yellow tang.

The whole process in action

Sorry about the coraline in the way. The starfish legs are striped

That's really interesting. It totally looks like it got one of your crabs.

Was it one of those ones that sift stuff from the "air"...the ones with like feather-looking things on the ends of their hands?

It is an Olympus E-1. I think that reef pictures are my weakest area. I never can seem to get them focused well. It may be my dirty tank glass!

lol I was thinking the same thing as Donny... My reef pics are horrible... I think its the auto zoom... I'll probably be getting a camera for Ashley either for her birthday or christmas... Maybe you could help me pick one out Julie???

I have to admit to not knowing much about most cameras. I have done a lot of research on the DSLR's, all of which are pretty good.

I can probably help steer you in the right direction depening on what she wants to shoot

The Rebel is a nice camera, but, only if you want to deal with investing in the lenses. Sometimes a point and shoot with a good macro function and 10x zoom is better.

I love having a DSLR, but I have invested a lot of money in lenses. I want to spend a ton more too! I restrain myself :)

With DSLR's, it isn't the body that will give you good results, it is the lenses. The body is the cheap part. If you buy cheap lenses, the results aren't so hot

Also, with a DSLR, you really need to be able to use an editing program to at least sharpen your photos. DSLR's do less in camera to leave more of the decisions on the end product to the photographer

Ok, I'm already confused, so you know more than I do... She wants something that can take pictures fast... Hers takes forever to recharge if you use the flash... I want something that you can set to manual focus... Ummm, doesn't have to be too fancy... Plus I figure she'll need a new camera for the honeymoon... Right now she has a Sony something or other and I have a Kodak EasyShare deally... We'll see... lol Oh, sorry for the hijack
