Ok, I love the way angelfish look, who dosn't?
But I don't have a big enough tank :(

But why do they need so much space? Why don't other fish such as tangs, that get to be the same size as many angels, not need as much space?:hmm5:

Hello Matt!

Angelfish are amazing and can do very well in reef tanks. What size tank do you have?

Here are some of mine

well thing is that I am in the planning stages of the tank... me and my dad have every thing planned out to buy, as far as the tank, filtration... but since I'm the one thats going to be taking care of it and what not... he wants me to choose the livestock... we're just waiting for my sister to move out to free up some more room...

But as far as the tank we're planning on getting a 125gallon. :)

just get it from craigslist or a local reef forum...

i see 125g with stand and sump plus equipment for about $500 all the time..

well the tank isn't the issue... at my lfs theres a new one for the same price tho...

I'm not saying that angels don't need alot of space, I just want to know why they need so much...

because a lot of angels get really big. If you want to do dwarf angels they are pretty, and don't need as much space. Tank size really depends on how big the fish will get

if your in the planning stages and want big fish, start looking for a 180 or a 240. a 125 looks really big empty till you start realizing the limitations a narrow tank presents.
