Another annoying newbie needs opinion on camera...

Hey Everyone...

I don't mean to be a pain, but I didn't ask with my last camera and it ended up being a total $250 POS. I'd definatly consider myself a newb in the photography department, but I'm trying hard to learn and practice.

Now... this camera seems to be pretty decent. I've always had luck with Kodak cameras, and this one has good reviews. It's got an option for RAW and also boasts 15x optical zoom.

Through my friends dad (a local photographer), I can get this camera for around $225.

Please post your opinions/thoughts/expertise. Thanks in advance! :)

Honestly, I would save up some more money and get an entry level DSLR from either Nikon or Canon and a macro lens.

search the thread/ a couple of weeks ago some one was bragging about using a magnifying glass and PS camera, it didn't work so well but some one posted some good pics as an example of a nice PS Fuji camera that worked really well.

Thanks for the link...

In all honesty, this may seem stupid being said in the photography forum... but I'm not looking to get professional shots. I just want clear, color-accurate photos that I can post onto the site without being embarrased. While I understand that nothing can compare to the quality of an DSLR, I am a complete NOOB in the photography department and don't have a lot of money/time to devote to it.

I figured for under $300 I can have a camera that has a good optical zoom range and at the same time support a (once local) brand that has always worked well for me.

Either way, I thank you guys for your help! :)
