Another Feeding ?

I currently have six Reidi, of which only two eat on a consistant basis. I have tried PE mysis & the Hikari brand with no luck. What other types of frozen foods does everyone feed with? The four seahorses that aren't eating are from Draco Marine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have only had my horses a short time, but I soak my food in the garlic extreme, they say it helps to entice them into eating. It seems to work ok, and works well with our reef fishes as well. My horses are pigs really, and my largest one is a female and she's a glutten, she's gotten fatter since I've had her...3 weeks now.

I feed both hikari and PE, the PE is quite large so the smaller pair I have don't eat as much of that as they do the hikari. I switch off during the day so that they all get something they enjoy. I even tried enriched brine too, but I know it's not great for them so I feed my corals in my grow tank that on occasion when I'm lazy LOL

Garlic is not an appetite stimulant for seahorses. They have no sense of smell. It is not a part of there anatomy.

If your seahorses are not eating at all I would move them to a bare bottom 10g or 20g and try feeding frozen to see if the less amount of distractions helps them concentrate on the food. This way you can also be sure.

If still no luck try small live fresh water ghost shrimps.

I'd call Jorge as well and let him know now.

i have the same issue with my draco horses. one will weat froaen all the time, the other two just kind of look at it. i do have an ungodly number of amphipods in the tank though and i am assuming they arte eating the live food. i hear once the live is gone they will go back to eating frozen.

Thanks for the info. Jorge @ Draco insists they eat PE mysis before he sells them. They must be eating something because man they are fat.
