I have a 125 tank with a purple tang and I ant ot adda red sea salfin and was thinking of a sohal but I cnaged my mind on the sohal. Since I wanted to impliment the rule of three's what other tnag can I add ? I also wanted to stay with in hte red sea origin. But all suggestions are apprciated. thank you.

I wouldn't add another tang and depending on how well established your current tangs are, you might have problems adding anything else.

well all I have right now is the purple tang I wanted to add the salfin. I just thought that there would be constant fighting between the two.

you could add another tang atleast but if sure is going to be difficult not knowing how the purple tang will act usually its not going to like another tang coming in its home but for best of luck get one larger then the purple..i would pass on the salfin tang, they get to big for a 125.. maybe a powder blue could hold its own

to tangs in a 125 is a safe limit

It's a safe limit if you can get them to get along, which I wouldn't bet money on.

i agree here..purples are pretty territorial and sailfins get LARGE. IF i were to try this, id rearrange my liverock and then add a sailfin that is the same size or a little larger than the purple. like i said, im willing to bet in a year the sailfin will look might cramped in there.

If you have to try one, I would avoid the salifin and try a chocolate, tomini, chevron or another kind of bristletooth. They are less agressive and don't get quite as big.

I have a purple and a sailfin tang in my 180. They do great together. The sailfin is much larger than the purple though.

i'd put one of these

blue tang
powder blue tang
achilles tang
yellow tang

all can stay in a 125 for life

i wouldn't put
sailfin tang
naso tang
sohal tang
clown tang
