i love these fishes and i am into collecting sme rare breeds....
i recently setup a 36x18x24 reef tank full of corals ...so far i hve a small mystery and a yellow goby in it....would really like to add a small school of anthias and anthias that dnt grown much bigger than 3 to 4 inches.....need an expert advise which of em rare and nice to get..but small school i meant 3 but would like to get a rare pair if possible..
thanks

There are some neat smaller anthias like princess and sunset, but I worry about the mystery wrasse.

I agree with SDguy, I keep 2 P. dispar and 1 P. ignitus in the same size tank, but I wouldn't do it with a mystery wrasse in the tank.

i hve always been fan of blotchy anthias...a guy that i know here local is breaking his tank...his blotchy is about 3 inches....i am so desperate to put my hands on that fish....in this case would one blotchy anthia work??

I wouldn't.. they one of the larger anthias...there are many that stay smaller in the 3-4" range

I have the same size tank almost and would like to keep some anthias. What about popular ones like lyretail or dispar?

I think dispars would be ok, they stay on the smaller side. One thing to consider is the extra bioload anthias put on a tank... it is substantial. If you havesome pristine low nutrient SPS tank, you are in for a surprise...long term. :)

I would just like to say this is not for my biocube in my signature but a new tank I am setting up. 62 gallon tank, 40 gallon sump, skimmer rated for 250 gallons.

I have a 57g and right now have a single sunburst anthia and he is great. Also have a pair of suzuki anthias in there and they have a max size of about 3 inches.

Have to agree about the mystery wrasse though, I had one when I first setup the tank and he was sent packing. He was not aggressive but just the fact that he was in there had every other fish in the tank hiding all day until we fed. I decided I wanted a peaceful colorful tank with fish swimming around, not one fish in a 57g tank.
