Hi everyone,

Could someone please help me with ID of Anthias I got yesterday?
They were sold under name Squampinnis, but they should be orange in color, right?

Thank you in advance.;)

They are female Pseudanthias huchtii.
They are in the Squamipinnis complex, so treat them the same as Squamis
Thank you:wavehand:

The more I look at them the more I agree.:D
Although I'm a bit confused by the tail color of mine fishes-they are not monochromatic. They are purple (body color) in the middle, with yellow edges...:worried:

Did anyone see the odd species name of the anthias on LADD recently? Pseudanthias mortoni... I thought they looked just like huchtii, but maybe that's what you have here?

It could be mortoni. Currently mortoni is a synonym of huchtii, but the males do look different, almost carberryi coloring.
