Less then a month out and we really havent heard anything about the Fall Swap. Hope the turn out is better then the Williamsport swap.

I wasn't at the Williamsport one this year, but last year I thought it was the perfect amount of people. Will be there for the Spring 2015 swap!

If you have not been to a frag swap at That Fish Place, you will not be disappointed. Yes, the turn out is much better then Williamsport. That Pet Place sponsors this event, provides lunch for everyone in attendance, brings in some of the manufacture's, and donate all of the raffle prizes.

Last year we had 47 frag swappers listed and I expect us to be around the same for this year. I would gues that in the next 2 weeks, you will see more activity on www.fragswapper.com

The Fall Frag Swap will be held at That Pet Place in Lancaster, PA on Saturday, October 4th from 11:00am to 5:00pm in their retail store at 237 Centerville Road in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Join us for great education sessions, free lunch, valuable raffle, excellent coral trading and fine fellowship.

NCPARS/Reef Conservation Society members: $5
Nonmembers: $10
Tables: Free!

I reserved a small frag of red hornets and a small frag of rastas. Decent prices on some pieces I had previously but melted.

So I've never been to a frag swap. Just started my first tank earlier this year. I only have frags I've purchased and have nothing to swap. Explain to me how these things work. Do you guys just go to swap or do you bring frags to sale. If I come empty handed will the only thing I be able to purchase be from the store or will I be able to purchase frags from reefers.

There is not so much 'swapping' as it's mostly selling. I've seen new reefers get confused before and the name of the meet is misleading. When locals have meets at their house swapping occurs. When the club has meets selling occurs.

It is true that most people are there to buy and sell. I am always open to fair trades and frequently do, especially near the end of the swap.

With that said, does this happen in the Central PA area? I live in Lewisburg and would be interested in this sort of thing. In the past I have had to frag coral and had nowhere to put it.

Does what happen? The swap next month is in Lancaster at That Fish Place. The next meet at someone's house has yet to be determined. Look on fragswapper.com and if you can attend the one in Lancaster put your extra pieces up on there.

The one at a house. I didn't know that those existed.
There have only been a few of us to step up and try to stage a personal get together. We've had them at my house in Pottsville, Shawn's in Port Carbon, and Brad's in Whitehaven. I'm up for another especially since I won't make the swap

Our October Flyer mailed this week, so you should be getting them any day now, I know many already have. The Flyer will be posted on our website on October 1st. There are many items on sale, and a 15% off purchase coupon, unfortunately salt is excluded. We are only able to do the salt deal once a year at our spring anniversary sale. The frag swap weekend is also a livestock sale weekend, where all aquatic livestock will be 30% off.
