I was thinking about putting one in at my store. definitely bio cube size. All my experience has been with larger tanks and I dont want something thats a pain in the a$$. I was would do some nano fish and choice zoos and trumpets from my big tank. It would need to run without issue on my days off.

All my good experiences are with small tanks! What are your concerns?

Most of the stock AIOs (APs, JBJs, Red Sea Max's) are vastly improved by a few easy mods, such as swapping out the stock pump, adding additional pumps, upgrading or modding the lights, etc.

For the greatest ease of use, I recommend the largest desirable volume, a minimal bioload, and an ATO. Skimmer is desirable but optional. Many of these tanks have vinyl backs that peel off, so you can place a grow lamp on the back pane and grow chaeto in the rear chamber. Filter floss works nicely in the rear chambers. I have a few other tips that I will pm you.

Not necessarily. I ran an 8g, a 24g, and a 26g for various lengths of time (1-2 years) with no crashes. All of the above plus a nice slow cycle plus weekly h2o changes. Also because I only kept softies and LPS, I never dosed. Just relied on quality salt and pure water.

Obviously there's a big difference between what you can do with a 26g and what you can do with a 5g. The smaller you go, the less you want to feed.

I have a 46g, with H.O.B everything. This is my first tank and I started in January. My fish and corals care pretty easy and hardy! Fish: Black spot red damsel, Chromis, PJ cardinal, and a scooter blenny. Corals are: frilly lavander shrooms, a gorgonian, neon trumpets, torches, zoos, palys, and a australian spider sponge. I feed once every other day. Lighting is a dual t-5 blue/actinic.

small tanks are really not that difficult to maintain. I like them because you can stock them with nice corals and it wont cost a fortune for it to look nice

Kept this a little over a year

I recently setup a Cardiff. Did some serious Mods to the Stand. Only 2 weeks in and things are going well.
