Any one know what this is??

I found this washed up by the look of it on a sand bar and have no idea what it is, never seen one before.
Any one got an idea as to what it is?

looks like a jelly....how big is it; it also resembles a hydroid, but i am probably wrong on both accounts.

The disk is a half inch across and it is very flimsy.
