Any recommendation for a starter tank?

Can anyone recommend any relatively easy beginner soft corals for someone starting out?

Are there any trips or tricks to get these corals cheaper.

I have a gold fish and a freshwater shrimp tank now but I am not sure to seeing such expensive corals. I was looking at the Dr. Fosters and smith and some of those corals are over $100 a peace.

Can't I get some coral eggs and start out like really small to save money or perhaps go diving in the ocean and find some coral to put in my tank?

If this stuff cost over $100 a coral, I am going to need to setup my tank in a 1 gallon tank with a single piece of coral.

lol.

You could try and get some coral frags from local members. Maybe some of them will even be kind enough to give you some corals for free.

Look for zoas, leathers, Kenya trees and mushrooms. All nice beginner corals.

Sound great. People in my area are probably not as nice as people in your area.

Do I need to buy some plankton food for them like.
"Kent Marine Micro-Vert Invertebrate Food for Fine Filter Feeders" or do they eat dissolved organics in the water?

Thanks.

The ones listed are pretty easy to keep for sure. Just keep in mind that usually the easy to keep ones can grow pretty fast and can make adding other corals problematic.

FWIW I never fed any of the listed corals anything special.
