Anybody good at working on cars?

If you plan on tearing it down that far, might as well as replace the water pump while you got it all opened up.

If you wanna bring it out this way, we can tear it down and have it back up in a few hours.

Also a good time to replace all hoses and belts as well.

radiators water pumps and thermostats is what go wrong when cars over heat. If you are having an overheating problem, I would change all 3, especially if the jeep has a lot of miles, like 75K+. Belts and hoses are fairly cheap to replace, and when they go out, they can leave you stranded as well. PM your model and stuff about your cheap, and I'll looking to finding a higher output water pump. I usually can find them cheap, almost as cheap as stock. Higher output=cooler motor, which will prolong its life too. If you do any kind of off roading, its always good to find a 3 or 4 core radiator, high output water pump, all the climbing/pulling/spinning tires when you dont have a lot wind coming through your radiator isnt a good thing.

Also a GREAT time to replace your electrical fan. Aftermarket fans are cheaper then stock and pull/push higher CFM over stock.

I build off road trucks for fun :oD . My next project will be a cherokee cause they are getting to be a dime a dozen now days, so all kinds of extra parts for cheap!

Yeah, might as well replace whatever hasn't been replaced recently while it's all apart. One an older, easy to work on vehicle (have a 65 Mustang, so they don't get much easier), I'd think this could be a 3-4 hour job pretty easily. The problem comes in when the head snaps off a bolt while trying to back it out or something crazy like that...
