Anybody switch back to MH?

PAR is really a misused unit of measurement. Just because you have higher PAR does not mean you have a better light. The usable light spectrum is more important. I can have a high par with just a green light, but that doesn't make it better.

Seems its a subject needs to be explored more and there are some people that swear by mh's. One thing is for sure there is more money toward led advertising then mh lol.

Actinic Pop = RB LED > MH OR T5....VHO close tie

Cost savings - LED > MH OR T5

It really depends on what you want - I've seen great looking tanks with Leds, but the best looking tanks I've seen (primarily in terms of sps color), don't run them....so until this starts occurring with any degree of consistency, I'll deal with the electric bill/heat/bulb changes...as I didn't enroll in the hobby to save money, but to obtain the best color and growth possible.
