We are heading there in another week and just trying to get an idea what the conditions are like there this time of year. I usually go in the summer, so I know the water won't be quite as warm now.

I'm diving Robinson's Thursday night dive and Friday and Saturday's 2 tank dives, send pm.

Oh yeah did Mike Severn's today. They stunk.

Dive was disorganized. More unsafe movement on a boat and equipment scattered all over the place than I could believe.
Captain took more time to find the divespot like he had never been there before. (Robinson's cappy "bird" had us moored and on same spot days before within a few minutes.)
The captain gave me crap about wearing gloves. And pretty much put it he would not let me in the water with them on. ( I hold onto dead coral or rock surfaces in the current while avoiding hazards and taking photos and I try my darndest to prevent any reef damage with my hands) Not like the several folks in our party that were dragging their gauges and fins and even standing on coral heads during the dive.

And the dive instructor that I had was very poor at helping us find the animals that he is supposed to have down cold. And their BC has no shoulder pull down straps and the cumberbun has been removed so the BC's move around on you. And I had nowhere handy to clip my digital camera, unless I was a portsider.

-------The site selection was excellent. The fact they have safety tubes and whistles on their BC's was great. But the other aforementioned reasons brought about a rather foul taste in my mouth over the dive experience. Oh yeah, almost forgot the other good my wife pointed out. The food is better than most but I'm not onboard to have good cookies and juice...LOL.

The weather has been holding as far as rain so clarity is great and I hope it holds for you. I know our bottom time has been very fortunate so far.

For anyone wanting to dive in Maui, and will be out by Lahaina, I would try Lahaina Divers. Very professional, have the best type of dive boat, and all around was one of the better dive trips I have been on.

Make sure you get out to the Cathedrals, as its really one of the best dives there. Also, dive the back wall of Molokini Crater if you are skilled enough for drift dives.
