Since bringing my fuge online, my phosphate has been steadily dropping (Hanna checker) and tonight, it bottomed out at absolute zero. The R. florida are not looking happy.
What are you using and how have your results been?
With that said, it seems the “make your own” is easy to overdose. However, on R2R @Dr. Reef posted this in 2018 -
adding 1.88g of the Trisodium Phosphate to 0.25 gal (1 liter) of water will get you stock solution. 1 ml per 26gal (100 l) of tank water will boost phosphate by 0.01 ppm.
I have used Neophos. As the fish got bigger, I fed enough this problem went away.
I have stopped the LaCl completely recently. Phos has dropped low enough to not need it.
Phosphate dosing helps to control the pH level in the boiler water, which in turn helps to prevent the formation of scale and corrosion on the boiler tubes and other components
If you can't grow coral, it's likely due to unstable water parameters in your tank, including incorrect levels of calcium, alkalinity, magnesium, pH, temperature, nitrate, and phosphate, which are crucial for coral growth; improper lighting, too much or too little water flow, or simply not providing the right type of coral for your tank conditions; always monitor your water parameters closely and adjust as needed to ensure optimal coral growth.
