i heard of a product called "Reef Bugs" by a guy named Marc Weiss. marcweissaquariumproducts.com is the website (link below). i wanted to know if any of you have used this in your reef tank. i am trying to find a way to up the "pod" population in my 55gal. it has about 75 lbs of live rock in the main tank, 20 or so lbs of rubble rock and a 3 inch sand bed. 29 gal sump has a fuge area with a 2 inch sand bed 35 lbs of rubble ( 5 inchs ) and diffrent macros. any opions on that are welcome as well.MarcWeissAquariumProducts.com

Hello. I personally use the reef bugs in 2 of my tanks. My corals seem to love it. I have not paid attention to see if it has helped my pod population because I have food to feed to my tanks that is just for my pods. I really like the results from using the reef bugs.

i feed around 60ml of phytoplankton in my 55gal reef w 29/gal sump. this high? this will help my pop pouplation? i direct most of it to the spot in the right front where my Tri.C clam lives. shoul di add some to the sump?

When I add it, I put some in the main display and some in the fuge. Can't comment on the amount you are adding, as I use stuff I grow. It is at a pretty high density- but not the same as DT's. You can always add a little of the food that you feed the tank to the refugium as well. Basically- get food to the bugs.

WOW!!!! i got some of the reefbugs and have been blown away by how well they worked. i have been doseing much less then they call for and have seen a explosion in bugs. tonight i was watching my fuge area in my sump and i saw a big pop baiting smaller pods like a angler fish. i saw him CATCH ONE! one of the coolest things i have seen in my tank so far.i do have to admit i have green hair algee growing now and i think the two might have something to do with each other. next step is to get my mandarin. anyways i will post again and say how it's going after alittle while.
