Yes I do feed my corals...? Phytoplankton bi-weekly, Zooplankton weekly.

Not quite sure what the advanced part of the question is really.

Feedind plankton is an advanced topic. My big tank has a phyto breeder which makes phyto in an increadible rate. Some of it goes into my tank to feed the filter feeders and some goes into the zoo reactor. The amount of phyto in my tank depends on the time of day and it is very similar to the amount found in nature. I feed zoo at night. I also dose amino acids, vitamins and urea.

Daido,

Can you go a little more into your setup (what you use, how it works, etc..)? I'm looking to do the same with my tanks.

Thx

Sure. Coral nurient is made out of things that they get from the zoox and things that they getdirectly from the water. The zoox consume mostly ammonia and nitrate but also amino acids and urea. I have a container that I fill with amino acids vitamins and urea. The first two you can get from red sea reef energy b and there ate some other products that elos and zeovit make as well. I get the urea from walmart. It comes in little balls and the amount you should add to your mixture depends on the size of your container. I recommand a ratio of 1:7 between the urea and the aminos because about 3% of the nurients that zoox need are urea and about 21% are aminos. You can go up to 1:3 ratio and look at your reasults but I find the natural concentration to be just fine. A dosing pump doses the amount recommanded by the manufacturer. The phyto reactor is a 10l flat container with a 6500k light. Next to it there is acontainer full of fertilizer that you can get online and a dosing pump that doses it to the phyto reactor. Another dosing pump pumps the amount that you choose of phyto into the zoo container. Im not sure how much im dosing but im sure you can try out yourself and find the right ratio. I have another doser that doses the zoo at night to the display. The phyto should be dosed on day time.
Hope I helped:-)
