Anyone got a name for this seahorse?

Squall

So just came back from the LFS, and an employee showed me their new seahorse tank. They had "golden" or ""colden" seahorses in the tank, I am not sure I heard the person correctly. And she couldn't give me a scientific name of course. Has anyone heard of this seahorse? I don't have a photo, but can describe tank and horse. The tank is 6 gallon, had lower salinity and lower temp than most tropicals (employee explained this to me). The horse is black right now, but will mature to 4 inches and will be goldenish in color. Next time I go back I am going to try and get the scientific name of the horse.

Just wondering if anyone has info on this horse or can suggest a species similar that I can look at.

Thanks

it could be just a yellow erectus.

i currently have a 30g seahorse/pipefish tank. 2 black erectuses 1 orange. 2 dragon face pipefish. 2 bluestirpe, 1 target manderine and 1 yashagoby.

Seahorses can change color so it really could be any species. They all should be kept cooler than most tropicals. If you can get a picture, or let us know where you are located, that could narrow it down. Did she tell you where it is from, or whether it is captive bred or wild caught? There is a gallery of seahorse species pictures here http://gallery.seahorse.org/main.php?g2_view=core.ShowItem&g2_itemId=12 but keep in mind color and patterning is not a good indicator of species. Species are distinguished by physical characteristics like location of spines, coronet shape, rings, etc.
