Anyone have a reef with septic system?

I have read that doing water changes in a septic system is a no no..... where does all the salt go? I have also read that it will not hurt a septic system. I know this for sure though, salt water kills grass & plants. I pump my waste water beyond all grass & plants after killing a bunch.
