as the title says it. anyone have a spare venturi near pembroke pines? anytime i look for one at a LFS they never have one.

The MJs all come with a venturi, but it's for the outlet, not inlet. Are you looking to turn this into a needlewheel skimmer? If so you'll need more than just a venturi.

If it's for just being a feed pump to a skimmer that has it's own needlewheel, then it won't need a venturi.

Sorry to be frustrating with the questions, but asking for a venturi is like asking for a nail or screw.

lol im going to do the bioball mod to a MJ and it just says i need a venturi for it :/ not frustrating :P just didnt think there was so many types of em. i dont have the venturi it came with if it did come with one.

okay well then you can see if the venturi that comes with it originally in the box fits the intake, but you'll have to see, as it is designed to fit the outlet. Otherwise you can make your own venturi by using a piece of PVC or other tube, drill a hole in the top, and fit a piece of airline tubing in it. Make a |/ kind of cut at the end and face the flat part towards the outside, angled part towards the pump. That should work as a ghetto venturi. You'll probably want to put an airvalve on the airline, as you want to be able to control how much air gets in.

BTW, that is the ghettoest solution I can think of. I don't think they make venturis for maxijet pumps anywhere, otherwise I would suggest just buying theirs.

Hopefully some of that made sense.
