That's what they look like to me too. Hate those things!

If that is the case, there are studies that show they are bad for your tank. You may want to do some reading and decide for yourself.

I bought a leather that had these guys on it. They spread like wildfire. I cut down on my feedings and they are under control. If you see them spreading, you might be overfeeding.

I had a pretty significant outbreak.

Cutting back on nutrient import really put a dent in them.
