Anyone have experience with Calcium Reactor?

I am currently upgrading to and setting up a 125 reef tank. I have been reading alot about calcium reactors and how they function. I am thinking about adding one to my tank in the future. Even though I have read alot about them I am still kinda fuzzy about the whole idea.

Does anyone here have one on their tank? Is it worthwhile have one set up on your tank? What's this about having a kalk reactor as well as a calcium? Do I need a kalk reactor as well as a calcium reactor?

I would love to come look at someones tank that has one set up, or just hear your experiences with one.

Your up my way (sort of) so your welcome to come by and take a look at my Ca reactor system. Im in West Wilson county by Old Hickory lake betwwen Hermitage and Mt Juliet.

As for running them, yes, there are a number of us that run them. Some run them and drip Kalk, some just drip Kalk and use 2 part, and some just use 2 part.Myself, I am a Ca reactor fan. Once dialed in I hardly ever have to touch ti and keep my Ca and Alk levels very stable. On very heavily populated (and overpopulated tanks) you may need to drip Kalk and use a reactor. I have not found it necessary.

Kalkwasser is sometimes dripped at night to help stabilize Ph if you have large swings between day and night. I don't so do not bother. Making up kalk is a pain imo.

2 part (which is what I sued to do on my large tanks and still do on my nano's) is very effective and costs less short term. The problem again is stability. I can go away for a few days and not worry about my tank levels.

Cool I might have to take you up on that offer. I dont think my tank will be overly populated so I am hoping to get off with out having to drip kalk. Its just one more thing to buy. I already need to find a reef controller, and a calcium reactor sometime soon.
