Tried that one too. I guess there aren't very many people near/in Dubuque. Just me and Chris. Saw a couple other profiles that say they are from dubuque, but no repose from them or they quit the hobby.

Another sad thing is, PetCo is the only pet shop that has saltwater fish. and those fish don't look very healthy. In 3 days, a bunch of fish were already dead. PetCo = Animal Cruelty

Does anyone know the closest pet store that have saltwater fish other than PetCo?

I got one fish, few snails and hermit crabs, and a mushroom coral. If those guys do pretty well the next couple of weeks, i may just place a big order online.

What is the risk of adding too much at once? Having some livestock to start out with to see how well the lights/water quality/etc. is, then add a bunch of livestock at once.

Adding too much to your bio-load at once can cause spikes in the nitrogen cycle. This is because the natural filtration in your tank won't be able to keep up if the bio-load goes up too quickly.

what if it's just 2 fish, a shrimp and about 5 corals? Corals don't cause problems with the nitrogen cycle, do they?

mark you will be fine with that. for your tank, i wouldnt have anymore than 2-3 fish
