Anyone in the Lycoming County area have a SPS tank?

I just purchased and moved into my first home a few weeks ago in South Williamsport and I am going to be setting up my new tank soon. I haven't decided on a 90 or a 120 yet. Does anyone in the area have a SPS tank that would be willing in the future to sell any frags to help me start out. My current tank at my parents house lost most of the frags because of a lack of attention with the home purchase. I know there was just a swap so most people are probably fresh out but this wouldn't be for a few weeks. Anything would help.

Thanks guys

+ if anyone has or knows of a used 90 or 120 reef ready tank let me know (possibly in the area)

Sounds great thanks Nate.

Looking at your interests you have "clownfish breeding" would you have a pair of clowns in a few weeks that I might be able to buy from you? Its been years since I have had any.

i have a few things i can frag .. to you ever go to something fishy.. if you are in the area let me know i am usually there on sat mornings...

It will still be a few weeks until I am ready. I think I might get my tank next weekend but it will take time to build the stand. I am shooting for Thanksgiving time but hopefully before then.

Thanks

I think that I have decided to go with 8 54W T5 for my 120 for this setup instead of the dual 250W MHs. I think that this should save me in energy costs and also cut down on the residual heat from the lights. I also can build a nicer more stream lined hood with smaller lights. As far as I can tell from talking to people online, is that 54Wers should be fine for SPS in the 24" depth.

Any thoughts.

a friend of mine had a beautiful sps tank with nothing but t5's .... there are so many bulb options depending on which colors you are looking to bring out. the t5's were so intense she had to move her zoas down under ledges because they were getting burned.
as you said you will not have the same heat issues that you would have with metal halides.
good luck

I ordered one IceCap 660 tonight and probably ordering the second tomorrow night. Hopefully I am able to keep any corals that I want with the T5s. From the research I have done so far it looks like with nice reflectors and the right bulbs choice I can keep anything and possibly even SPS on the sane bed.

Can't wait to get it setup. Who wants to come to Southside to help with a tank setup :)
