Anyone keep a lieutenant tang (Acanthurus tennentii) and a lavender tang (A. nigrofuscus) together?
Curious for personal experiences. Everything I read suggests both fish are reasonably peaceful (at least compared to other Acanthurus species), but not sure what that means for predicting how they'd get on?
FWIW, both fish individuals in question being considered for this are small (<3"). The lavender is already in the tank; the lieutenant is still at the LFS. The lavender is smaller than the lieutenant.
The lieutenant is actually getting beat up a bit by a copperbanded butterfly of all things in the tank he's in at the store. Crazy. I don't know if this is a docile tang or if that is one aggressive butterfly (I didn't think there was such a thing!!)
Anyhow any advice appreciated (including the "Don't do it, fool!" type advices
