Anyone local use or has used eductors?

Thinking about adding these to my returns to help add some head pressure and increase flow in the tank at the same time. Just wanted to get some local opinions.

Pat and I got some at the same time. I am running mine on my seahorse tank and I like it because it fans the water out more to circulate better without the jet stream effect.

Hey Pat, I never have gotten around to ordering the adapter so I used one of them screwed to my return on the seahorse tank, it works good. I am such a slacker.......I have got to order those adapters. My big tank is giving me fits after the Rally treatment. My huge cap is bleaching and I have been trying everything to save it. It is some effect from the treatment because all water parameters are right. I just got done a 60 gallon water change so I hope it will help something. Our poor backs are killing us from the 5 gallons at a time back and forth. IT BETTER LIVE !! I am really getting the flack for these tanks lately. I cant wait to hook up the RO/DI back there. At least my seahorse tank looks good
Carrie:)

what kind of adapter are you all talking about? I would love to try them while I'm still wet testing in the garage. My Iwaki is a pressure rated pump and is perfect for penductors.

We both need the loc-line flex adapter so we can put the penductor on the end of the loc-line flex stuff. I have an extra penductor sitting here waiting on me to order the adapter, your welcome to see the one on my tank and borrow this one to try if you like, it is 3/4" I believe. Carrie

I really appreciate that Carrie. I have the loc line adapters. Do the penductors just snap on? Maybe Pat has one that I could borrow as well cause I really need one on each return in order to see how it really does. At least I think I would need both as I have 2 outputs on the return.

Dan, if you use loc-line than you need the screw on adapter which I already bought for Pat and myself, then you need the loc line double female adapter which I have not gotten around to ordering yet. I will bring the penducter to the meeting and see if others want to get some before I get an order together. This way only one charge for shipping to one location.
Carrie

Hey guys...I have Eductors on my tank connected to Loc-Lines....I just used PVC double threaded female adapters from HD...

acroholic, that's what I planned on doing just to test them. I think they will give me the head pressure I need to quiet this pump down instead of having to do it with a ball valve.

Hi Dan,

you are welcome to borrow one of my Penductors. I will bring it to the next meeting. I will be wanting it back by the following meeting. I do want to set it up in my tank as soon as I get get the correct adaptor for my setup. Carrie I hope your tank is doing better by now I would not like to see you lose your cap. I can relate with you on the water changes. I do them with 5 gallon buckets as well. This is one of the things I need to automate on my system.

Patrick

Carrie,

Have you checked your alkalinity? Try keeping it a little on the high end. This might help your cap if the PH and calcium levels are normal. Not sure if it will work just a thought and it is easy to keep the alkalinity levels high.

That would be great Pat. It'll only take an hours worth of testing and I can run both yours and Carrie's back. Just want to test with fresh water out in the garage before I go spend another 50 bucks on penductors. Thanks again Pat.
