Anyone running DSA NEO 105?

Anyone running a DSA NEO? I have seen a few posts about the NEO 34 and there was one about a NEO 90, but there is not much out there on these tanks. I have a NEO 105 rimless on order (48x24x21), which I have seen in person, just waiting for the stand to come in. I was curious if anyone was running a DSA NEO, bigger than the 34 nano? I've heard great things about DSA, but their site is sub par at presenting their products and there doesn't seem to be much info online about them. I'm just looking for ideas or to see what other people have done with this tank.

FWIW, the tank and stand ran me just over $800 from one of my LFS.

I had a Neo 90, awesome tank for the price. I then got a Reef Savvy custom, which I never set up and then sold... I'm considering the new 65 or 105 from DSA, the LFS said they placed an order for a few of their new dimension tanks...so we'll see. Look forward to your build.

Ha...I know you did. Your post was the only thing on the ENTIRE INTERNET I could find about a DSA rimless that wasn't a 34 gallon. Absolutely nothing about the 105, or any other sizes for that matter. You know it's bad when you Google for information and the only thing you find are your own posts about the topic.

Here is my 105. I picked it up Friday. Test fill for plumbing check and RODI started filling it up last night. Should be cycling with my 2 month cured rock by end of today. I'm very happy with this setup so far, nowhere near as big as my 210, but much more of a cool factor.

I'll be posting a build thread soon enough, not sure if I will pick up where my 210 stopped, or start a new one.

That's cool for sure. Mine was not rimless however, I wasn't aware the standard DSAs came this way now, everything on their site leads one to believe they are all have a rim other than the Neo Nano and the Neo Storm. The Reef Savvy was rimless though...talk about a beautiful piece of work... There's another 105g DSA build started on here too...

Got a link to that build thread?

I don't think all there tanks are rimless. I was looking at the DSA standard 130 first which I believe it had trim. I think it's the NEO series that are rimless. Mine is a 105 NEO.

I'm really close to pulling the trigger on the DSA Neo 105. How are you liking it still these many months later?

You guys are lucky living in texas it's over $200 more mark up for the Neo 105 in california. other wise I would have gotten one.

My initial quote from an LFS was $1200 for tank+stand, another LFS knocked it down $400. I did hear they jacked the price up once I started sending people their way though. I do suppose it's a little cheaper due to shipping costs here in Texas though.

ajayjack, I couldn't be happier with my tank. These are from about a month ago. New pics are still on my camera.

Pictures links are broken

My LFS is having a sale right now and I'm getting a great deal on the Neo 105. How's the glass? I emailed them today to see if it is low-iron glass. Doesn't seem like it is based on the info I found on their website. Still though, it's a sweet tank and will look great with a minimal aquascape, and a couple of ecotech radions and vortechs

Ahh, i will have to look at the pictures from home later tonight. Looks like my work is blocking access to your server :-(

Interesting, there is no reason that site should be blocked (it doesn't even have a home page) but it certainly is a possibility.

rrasco,

Beautiful tank! I just responded to another thread where you posted a picture of this tank. I'm glad I found this thread as I haven't seen much info online about DSA tanks.
I'm also in South Texas. Could you pm me the LFS you used to purchase your tank?

Thanks!

Are these starphire tanks? 1200 for a tank and stand is pricey if not starphire. Gotta check out cadlights tanks all starphire rimless

I have one and it isn't starphire but I only paid $500 for my tank and built my own stand. Very well built tanks and I would buy again, but my next tank will be bigger and I think once you get into custom DSA gets expensive.
