I don't know about enamel, but I know the mold inhibitors in bathroom silicone can cause major issues down the road when used on aquariums. I have used Kilz in the past and would definitely recommend it.

Thx Johnny..I actually have already applied 2 coats of Kilz on the stand and canopy.

I was looking to add to the sealing of the interior of the canopy with something I had laying around. I opened the can and it was no bueno.

I wouldn't see any problem using it, you're not using it in the tank...

Gotcha..I suppose I just get paranoid about it lol.

I guess once it's fully cured it would be fine but my concern is stuff like condensation that forms on the inside of canopy and drips back into the tank.

I believe S Helinski used something similar on his 120 canopy back in the day and never had any ill effects.
