Anyone tried these

I saw some screw in power compacts at WalMart that were 100w and were 6500K what is the down fall to using 6500k and has anyone used these to grow any coral?

id use it on fuge, i might get a daily bulb for a NO hood for my 10 gallon as i make it a sump.fuge, the current light is kinda purple/ pinkish, dsont think too much algae wants to grow in that, although i did haev good luck wiht it growing while it was FOWLR...

Thought I might try it on my main for a little more light. I know it would work for a fuge.

6500k is bluer...like actinics...low light almost like dusk or dawn.

Probably would do well for your corals but at that kelvin might help algae even more. If you don't have any fish in the tank you should be alright but if you have fish creating waste could be a recipe for hair algae.

Ok well I will skip that idea for know then cause I have fish and don't want hair alge seeing as I haven't had to battle it yet knock on wood. I guess I will just keep saving my money and by something worthwile. I am in the southwest corner. Don't know if you would be interested but the club in my area is having an auction in Kalamazoo On April 22.
