no but i cut a mushie into 1/4's and it did just fine

I will work , however it is a crude method and should not be done.
When you chop them into tiny piece like that the pieces with mouth parts will rebound and grow back to normal shrooms although it will take it much longer then the common practice of cutting them in half or quarters.
The piece without mouth parts have a 50/50 at living and if they do live will never look like a normal shroom again and will take many many weeks to even look like a normal shroom that is if they grow a mouth by some chance otherwise you will have a ball of tissue that is barely hanging on by photo from the lights.
