anyone use a "bubble wand" or the like in their sump for extra oxygen?

just finished reading a post about fish loss and how it could be related to oxygen levels dropping during the night.

i was wondering if anyone has used a bubble wand, or some other large air stone, with an air pump and placed it in the sump, at the opposite of the return (allowing the bubble traps to do their magic)?

i would imagine that this would not be so noisy inside a cabinet, and could provide a large amount of gas exchange.

any thoughts?

i think those are bad, something about the salt evaporating or something i dunno

just have a lot of surface movement and youll be ok

surface movement is key. i think i remember hearing more oxygen is added to the water as a result of the surface aggitation caused by airstones than the bubbles themselves.

Bubbles will do crap for oxygen saturation. The only thing that really puts a dent into the oxygen content, is algae. Phyto, macro ect. When the lights are on they will saturate the water with O2 in about 2 hours.
